Overview
As part of WP6, Task 6.1, the UDG team, in cooperation with the Academy of Arts in Split (UAA), organized a workshop in Split on November 11 dedicated to assessing the Willingness to Pay (WTP) for the preservation of Stećci. The event aimed to collect data for the economic valuation of Stećci and to raise awareness about their cultural significance and the impact of climate change on their preservation.
Participants were introduced to the project’s objectives and methodology and took part in lectures and discussions highlighting the importance of protecting Stećci as valuable elements of regional cultural heritage. A two-round survey was conducted before and after the educational session to measure changes in participants’ awareness, attitudes, and willingness to contribute financially to conservation efforts.
The workshop provided meaningful insights into public perceptions of Stećci and emphasized the growing awareness of the need to protect these unique monuments from environmental and climatic threats.
