In September 2024, a seven-member team from WP3 conducted condition assessments at four Stećci sites across Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia. The team included Katharina Fuchs, Marija Milchin, Gabriela Krist and Farkas Pintér (from UAA), along with Siniša Bizjak, Krešimir Bosnić, and Miona Miliša (UMAS), and Migueli Chedrewih (IMT). This was the second site assessment trip carried out under Task 3.3 of the project, focused on evaluating monuments in Stećci countries.

During the trip, four distinct sites were evaluated. The first day was dedicated to assessing displaced Stećci currently displayed in front of the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split. In the following days, the team examined the sites at Cista Velika (HR), Radimlja (BiH), and Ravanjska Vrata (BiH). Each of these sites is situated in a fairly remote area with unique environmental conditions, contributing to distinctive decay patterns and deterioration mechanisms. To better understand the decay processes, the team employed various methods, including visual inspections, in-situ testing, and detailed mapping of decay and damage patterns, which helped to capture and analyze the on-site conditions.

The trip was organized with the support of colleagues from the University of Split, Arts Academy (UMAS) and University of Sarajevo (UNSA).
